Fitchburg, MA : One person died after two-car crash in Fitchburg on Sunday, OCT 25, 2015

Police say a woman died after a two-vehicle crash in Fitchburg.

Police were called to scene at around 6 p.m. Sunday and found a white sport utility vehicle and a green car.

Fitchburg Police Lt. Jeffrey Howe says a 50-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, was driving in a compact car with one passenger.

Howe says the SUV driver has minor injuries and the passenger in the other car was not injured.

The woman driving the compact vehicle was trapped inside and firefighters removed her using the Jaws of Life. She was pronounced dead at Leominster hospital. Howe described the cause of death as severe trauma.

The crash is under investigation.
