Louisville, KY : Fort Knox soldier dies, another soldier charged with DUI in Radcliff on Friday, December 18, 2015

One person was killed and two others were seriously hurt after a crash in Radcliff, according to Radcliff Chief of Police Jeff Cross.

Chief Cross tells WDRB the crash happened Friday at 11:15 p.m.

He says a vehicle hit a home in the 900 block of North Logsdon Parkway in Radcliff.

Officials with the Hardin County Coroner's Office say the man killed is Derrick Cleveland 23, of California. He is a soldier currently stationed at Fort Knox.

Chief Cross says no one inside the home was injured, but two people were inside at the time of the crash.

The two people who were hurt were flown to University Hospital. The driver, Martin Barrington, is charged with first degree aggravated DUI, 2nd degree assault and 2nd degree manslaughter. Barrington is also active duty military. He and Cleveland serve in the same unit, the 19th engineer battalion.

He's been released from the hospital and is being held at the Hardin County Detention Center.

The third passenger, 48-year-old Stanley Crawford, is still at University Hospital. He is a former military member.

We caught up with a neighbor in the area, who heard the crash.

“We got home a little after 11 last night, and heard the tires,” said Scott Lachut, who lives next door. “We found the car over at the neighbor’s house, well, half a car," he said. “They obviously came around here at a high rate of speed, right through my yard and hit the neighbor’s house.”

A Radcliff Building Inspector said at the scene that the home would likely need to be condemned.
