Richfield,NY : Police released details on fatal Richfield crash on April, tuesday 18th 2017

State police released details Tuesday regarding Monday morning's fatal motor vehicle accident in the town of Richfield.

The two-car crash occurred at about 10 a.m. along state Route 20, according to a media release. Richfield Springs troopers responded to an Otsego County 911 report of the wreck.

An investigation determined that Jeanette M. Gilbeau, 47, of Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania, was driving a 2005 Nissan Murano eastbound when, for an unknown reason, she drifted into the westbound lane and struck a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by John M. Templin, 37, of Roseboom, the release said.

Gilbeau was operating as an escort vehicle for an oversize load at the time of the accident, according to the release. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by an Otsego County Corner.

Templin was transported by ambulance to Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries, troopers said. The investigation is continuing.
