Surprise ,AZ : Motorcyclist killed in crash on Loop 303 on Tuesday night,July 28th 2015

A 42-year-old motorcyclist died after being hit by a vehicle on Loop 303 just south of Peoria Avenue Tuesday night.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the motorcyclist was hit from behind by a car traveling at a high rate of speed.

The man was thrown off his motorcycle, which then skidded a quarter of a mile. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The cause of the crash has not been determined, but DPS officials said they received reports of someone speeding along Loop 303 before the crash.
