A Bow police cruiser was rear-ended in a crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 93 south in Hooksett, resulting in injuries to the department’s dog, Roxy.
Neither driver was injured in the crash, but Roxy was taken to CAVES Animal Hospital in Concord for treatment of minor injuries, according to New Hampshire State Police. Roxy is expected to make a full recovery.
State police responded to a two-car crash in the area of Exit 9 shortly before 9 a.m. A 2016 Ford Interceptor driven by K-9 Officer Matthew Pratte was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Jerry Turner, 30, of Loudon, police said. Pratte had slowed down because of heavy traffic on the interstate and was in the right travel lane at the time of the crash.
Police cited Turner for following too closely.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
