Paducah, KY : Man killed, 6 others injured after crash on US 45 in Mccracken County on Sunday afternoon, Aug 30, 2015

Kentucky State Police is investigating after one person was killed, and 6 others were injured in a car crash at the intersection of US 45 North and State Route 1241 on Sunday afternoon.

According to KSP, Ronald Peterson, 69, was traveling west on State Route 1241 when he failed to yield to the right of way at the intersection.

Victor Ramirez, 33, was traveling south when he hit the passenger side of Peterson's vehicle.

KSP reports the crash forced both vehicles about 65 feet across the intersection and came to a final rest against the guardrail.

The McCracken County Coroner reports Peterson died at the scene of the crash.

Ramirez and his five passengers were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
