The Washington State Patrol has identified the victim of a fatal wreck Thursday on U.S. Highway 101 near Bear Creek.
The State Patrol identified the driver as Jeffrey D. Parrish, 48.
Parrish was killed when his 1987 Toyota 4Runner struck a power pole near milepost 206, 13 miles east of Forks at 12:45 p.m., according to the State Patrol.
First responders closed U.S. Highway 101 westbound near Bear Creek for over six hours.
The State Patrol reported that the Toyota was traveling west, passing milepost 205. The truck left the roadway to the right, going into a ditch and hitting a power pole.
Parrish was wearing restraints, according to the State Patrol, although it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the cause.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation and the truck has been impounded.
Emergency services from Forks, the Beaver Fire Department, Washington State Patrol and the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office responded.
