Victoria,TX : Palestine woman injured in 3 vehicle wreck on September, Monday 18th 2017
A three-vehicle wreck sent a Palestine woman to the hospital Monday morning.
Donna Dunn, 32, was traveling north on U.S. 77 in a 2014 white Chevrolet Sonic about 2 miles southwest of U.S. 87 and 5 miles west of Victoria city limits, said Sgt. Ruben San Miguel, Department of Public Safety spokesman.
Dunn failed to drive in a single lane and entered into the southbound lane on U.S. 77 where a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pick up towing a 2012 flat bed trailer was traveling south along with a 1991 International dump truck, San Miguel said.
Dunn's Sonic side swiped the Silverado and the trailer causing the trailer to detach from the truck, roll and overturn. The Silverado and trailer came to rest facing south in the southbound lane, the trooper said.
Dunn continued to travel north in the southbound lane and struck the dump truck head on causing the Sonic to spin. The Sonic came to rest in the northbound lane facing west. The dump truck struck a concrete barricade on the east side of the northbound lane and came to rest in the lane facing east.
Dunn was transported to DeTar Hospital Navarro. She had been released from that facility by Tuesday, a hospital spokesman said.
Occupants of the other vehicles were not injured.
Less than 2 ounces of marijuana was found in her car, San Miguel said.
DPS is also investigating if alcohol was a factor in the wreck, he said.
The wreck remains under investigation.
