ELKHART, IN : Rider injured in motorcycle crash on Saturday, September 9, 2017
A 41-year-old Elkhart man was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center after a motorcycle accident at 8:22 p.m. Saturday.
According to the accident report prepared by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Jason Kershner was travelling west on County Road 8, west of Songbird Way. He was riding a 1986 Honda Shadow motorcycle, which crossed over into the eastbound lane of the road, and into the shoulder, causing Kershner to lose control of the Honda.
In the report, Kershner laid the bike down, which slid about 100 feet before coming to a rest on CR 8 and River Ridge Road.
Kershner was transported to the RV Hall of Fame to be transported via Medflight helicopter to St. Joseph Medical Center with severe head trauma, a broken arm and road rash, according to the police report.
No citations were issued at the scene.
