Seattle,WA : 2 hurt in four-vehicle crash on Highway 500 on January, Monday 5th 2018
Two people went to the hospital after a four-vehicle chain-reaction crash Monday morning on state Highway 500 near Andresen Road.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Andrew C. Rants, 31; Pamela P. Dunham, 74; Michelle L. Salmon, 36; and Michael D. Barkanic, 26, were all heading west on Highway 500, in the same lane, shortly before 6:30 a.m.
All four vehicles were approaching Andresen Road. Rants stopped paying attention, according to the State Patrol, and failed to stop, colliding into the rear of Dunham’s sedan.
Her vehicle then bumped into another, and that car struck a fourth car.
Dunham and Salmon were hurt and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, the State Patrol said.
Salmon was treated and released by Monday evening, according to the hospital, while Dunham was still being evaluated.
Their cars and Rants’ were likely totaled, troopers said.
The State Patrol said distracted driving caused the crash, and cited Rants for second-degree negligent driving.
