Canton, OH : 23-year-old Minerva man was killed an early morning crash at U.S. 30 On Monday, May 2nd, 2016
Alcohol is believed to have been involved in an early morning crash that killed a 23-year-old Minerva man Tuesday, according to troopers with the Ohio Highway Patrol's
Canton post.
Kory C. Spooner was driving a 1989 Buick Le Sabre west on U.S. 30 about 3:30 a.m. when he lost control of the car on a curve east of Paris Avenue, went off the left
side of the road, struck a guardrail and a utility pole and overturned several times, the news release said.
Spooner was thrown from the vehicle during the crash.
Harry Campbell, chief investigator for the Stark County Coroner's Office, pronounced him dead at 3:57 a.m. at the scene.
Troopers said in the news release that Spooner had not been wearing a safety belt and that "alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash."
The wreck remained under investigation.
