A Branson girl is dead after a car crash June 26 in Rolla.
Seven-year-old Izabela Floyd, of Branson, was travelling in a 1998 Mitsubishi Montero, driven by her mother, Dominika Floyd, 32, eastbound on I-44 at the 185 mile marker in Rolla, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
According to the patrol report, the crash occurred when the vehicle had a blow out, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle ran off the right side of the road and overturned several times. Izabela Floyd was pronounced dead at Phelps County Regional Medical Center, according to the report.
Also in the vehicle was Gabriel Floyd, 10, who had minor injuries, and Zachary Floyd, 8, who had moderate injuries. All four were taken to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, according to the report. Izabela Floyd was pronounced dead at the hospital at 9:37 a.m., less than 15 minutes after the crash was initially reported to the patrol.
All vehicle occupants were wearing safety devices, according to the report.
Izabela Floyd had finished her first year at Buchanan Elementary School, said Branson School Superintendent Brad Swofford.
"This was her first year at Branson," Swofford said.
