San Diego, CA : Crash sends car into building in Talmadge on May 6th 2014

The impact from a two-car crash in a Talmadge intersection sent one of the vehicles into a karaoke bar Tuesday night.

The incident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday near 52nd Street and El Cajon Boulevard.

According to a San Diego police sergeant at the scene, a Jaguar collided with a Toyota Camry at the intersection, sending the Camry crashing into the building.

The two occupants of the Camry, an elderly couple, were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. The sole driver of the Jaguar was not hurt.

The collision left a hole in the bar, but the structural integrity of the building did not appear to be compromised. A tow truck has been called to pull the vehicle out.

The cause of the crash was not confirmed. A witness told police that one of the drivers may have been talking on a cell phone when the collision occurred.
