Johnstown, PA : Emergency personnel respond to fatal crash on Sunday, January, 14th 2018

Emergency responders were at the scene of a fatal accident Sunday evening on Route 271 in Somerset County.

The accident, which apparently claimed the life of one person, closed 3 miles of the state highway near the Laurel Mountain Summit.

Responders indicated one vehicle traveled off the southbound lane and went down the hillside after 7:30 p.m.

Conemaugh Township police, fire department and the Somerset County coroner were dispatched to the scene, a Somerset County 911 supervisor said.
