A Wyoming man died Wednesday after the motorcycle he was riding crashed on a roadway in Battlement Mesa.
The 43-year-old man from Lyman, Wyoming, was riding a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle north on West Battlement Mesa Parkway when the vehicle ran off the road, according to Colorado State Patrol trooper Nate Reid.
The man was thrown from the motorcycle after the bike traveled up a raised grassy median and struck a light pole, Reid said. The crash occurred just before noon near the intersection of River Bluff Road.

The man was not wearing a helmet, Reid said.
Excessive speed and possible alcohol use are being investigated as factors in the crash, and the state patrol is still investigating the incident, Reid said.
