A Hampton man died in car accident Saturday night on the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel in Newport News, Virginia State Police said.
Reginald J. Jones II, 25, of the 200 block of Marcella Road in Hampton, was ejected from a motorcycle after clipping the jersey wall while trying to pass a Toyota Echo on a closed shoulder south of Exit 7 around 9:20 p.m., police said. He hit the Echo he was attempting to pass, police said. Jones II was traveling at a high speed, according to police.
