HAMBURG, NY : A child has died after a crash in Hamburg on Saturday, 8th June 2024

An Angola man was arrested after a child died in a car crash that happened Saturday night in Hamburg.

The two-car crash happened around 8:10 p.m. along Route 5, near the intersection with North Creek Road.

Town of Hamburg Police said Sunday afternoon that an eastbound car on Route 5 had stopped to make a left turn onto North Creek Road when it was struck from behind. Markus Genovese, 52, of Angola was identified as the driver of that truck.
