Bellefontaine, OH : 20-year-old motorcyclist died after a head-on crash in Logan County on Sunday, Oct 18, 2015

Authorities say a motorcyclist was killed after he was struck by a sport utility vehicle in Ohio.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that 20-year-old James Long was stopped in the southbound lane of Route 292 in a county northwest of Columbus when he was hit by an SUV shortly after 12:15 a.m. Sunday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says that the North Lewisburg man was thrown from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.

Authorities say 50-year-old Edward Marland's car went left of center when Long was struck. Marland was not injured in the crash.

Authorities say alcohol may have been a contributing factor. The crash remains under investigation.
