Reading, PA : Leesport woman killed in accident on Old Route 22 near Strausstown on Tuesday September 6 2016

A 77-year-old Leesport woman was killed Tuesday morning when her car slammed into a concrete bridge abutment on Old Route 22 near Strausstown, state police said.

Shirley Wesner lost control of her car when she swerved into the opposite lane to avoid a truck pulling out from Birch Lane in Upper Tulpehocken Township after a cresting a hill on Old Route 22 shortly before 8 a.m., troopers said.
