Hanover,NH : Woman found in crashed SUV in Hudson after family reports her missing on November, Thursday 16th 2017
A Pelham woman who was reported missing Thursday afternoon was found hours later in her crashed SUV off Derry Road in Hudson.
Police said the woman's vehicle was found in a ravine that's about 40 feet deep, but they're still not sure what happened. She was unconscious and seriously injured when she was found, and she was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.
Police said her family reported her missing about 4 p.m. Thursday.
"We received a call from her family members that she had left work," Sgt. Tom Scotti said. "She was expected at a destination in Litchfield, New Hampshire, and had not reached that point, and that's when family became concerned. They received a test message that was alarming in nature."
Investigators said they tracked her cellphone to an area near 334 Derry Road.
"Officers from the Uniform Division and the Criminal Investigation Division responded out there and began a search utilizing the thermal imaging device," Scotti said. "We used cellphone technology to locate the subject, and we called the Nashua police K-9 unit out to the scene as well."
Police said the cellphone pings only gave them a general area to search. After more than two hours of going through storage units, parking lots and other nearby locations, police found the 47-year-old woman unconscious behind the wheel of her SUV.
"We then rendered medical aid until the fire department arrived, and she was subsequently transported to the Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center and from there to Massachusetts General Hospital for further treatment," Scotti said.
Hudson police are asking anyone who might have seen anything associated with the crash to give them a call.
