Two people died during the weekend in separate vehicle accidents, according to a N.C. Highway Patrol sergeant, including a pedestrian.
Natasha Lynn Locklear, 39, of Maxton, was killed about 8:20 p.m. Sunday when she ran into the path of a 2007 Saturn SUV driven by Lillie Ann Johnson, 38, of Maxton, according to Sgt. Phillip Collins said. The accident happened on Jacobs Road, about six miles east of Maxton.
According to the incident report, Locklear saw the vehicle and ran toward two small children standing on the opposite side of the road.Locklear was taken to SRMC, where she died, Collins said.
Kevin Allan Judge, 57, of Fairmont, was killed about 2 p.m. on Friday while riding a bicycle north along N.C. 41 about two miles south of Lumberton. Judge was struck by a 2001 Toyota passenger car driven by John Powers, 86, of Fairmont. Powers was trying to pass Judge on the left when Judge turned left into the Toyota’s path.
Judge was pronounced dead at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
No charges have been filed in either accident.
