Ventura,CA : Two men killed Saturday in crash on Highway 118 identified on July, Saturday 29th 2017

Two men who were killed Saturday morning in an incident on Highway 118 in Simi Valley were identified by the Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office.

Daniel Vaca, 24, of Moorpark, and Christopher Lombard, 63, of Simi Valley, were killed in a multi-vehicle incident that was first reported around 4:10 a.m. on the 118 just west of Stearns Street, officials said Monday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Vaca was driving westbound on the 118 at a high rate of speed when he collided into the rear of a second vehicle.

Vaca's sedan overturned and landed on its roof, authorities said.
