Santa Rosa, CA : 46-year-old man dead in Highway 1 crash in Sonoma County on Sunday, December 28, 2014

A motorist whose 2014 Tesla sped off a cliff on Highway 1 in Sonoma County died Tuesday morning, officials said.
The incident was reported shortly after 8 a.m. in the Jenner area, the California Highway Patrol said. The driver was not immediately identified but described as a man in his 60s.
There were no witnesses to the crash but a passer-by spotted the car at the bottom of a cliff off Highway 1, said Officer Jonathan Sloat of the CHP.
The CHP is investigating whether the incident was intentional, he said.
On Sunday, a 46-year-old man, identified Tuesday as Johnathon Taylor of Cazadero, died after his car went off Highway 1 and crashed, also in Sonoma County. Taylor, the CHP said, was fleeing from a state parks ranger before his vehicle landed on a beach about 5 miles north of Bodega Bay.
