Carthage, MO : Mount Vernon man killed and Carthage woman seriously injured in a two-vehicle, head-on crash on Missouri Highway HH west of Carthage on Saturday night, April 18, 2015

A 42-year-old Mount Vernon man was killed and a Carthage teenager seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident about 8:15 p.m. Saturday on Route HH, three miles west of Carthage in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Joshua D. May, 42, driver of one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a patrol report. Shaleen M. Blair, 19, driver of the other vehicle, was taken to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
The accident occurred when the westbound May vehicle struck the eastbound Blair vehicle head-on, according to the patrol.

A Neosho man was injured in a motorcycle accident about 5:30 p.m. Saturday on Antelope Road, about a mile east of Seneca in Newton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

William G. McMahan, 24, told authorities he would seek medical attention at a later time, according to a patrol report.

The accident occurred when McMahan lost control of the northbound motorcycle on a curve, and it ran off the road, the patrol said.

An Exeter man was hurt in a single-vehicle accident about 4:30 p.m. Saturday on Highway 39, a mile north of Shell Knob in Barry County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Jerry D. Day, 58, was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital Cassville, according to the patrol.
The southbound Day vehicle swerved to avoid an oncoming car that was across the center line, and it ran off the road and struck an embankment and a tree, the patrol report stated.
