MADISON, TN : 1 dead in single-vehicle crash on the 3400 block of Brick Church Pike on Saturday, 4th August 2018

Metro police have identified the victim of a fatal, single-vehicle crash on Saturday night in Madison.

The crash happened just after 10:30 p.m. on the 3400 block of Brick Church Pike.

The driver, identified as 61-year-old Theoits Sanders, was pronounced dead on the scene by Nashville Fire Dept. responders and the MNPD Fatal Team.

Metro officers determined in their preliminary investigation that Sanders was traveling north in his 2010 Hyundai Elantra when he entered a curve and veered off the roadway, hitting a tree.

The cause of the crash is still unknown, but officials said there was evidence to suggest alcohol was a factor in the crash. A toxicology test will be conducted as part of the victim's autopsy.

Sanders was alone in his vehicle at the time of the crash and no other vehicles were involved.
