Pickaway County, OH : 61-year-old Circleville woman died, another injured in a car crash in Saltcreek Township on Tuesday afternoon, SEP 22, 2015

A 61-year-old Circleville woman died this afternoon in a car crash in Saltcreek Township that injured two other people, according to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.

Sandra Buckta was killed while she was a passenger in a car that was traveling westbound on Hayesville Road.

Sheriff officials say the driver of the car, Jackie L. Pence, 60, of Circleville, stopped at the intersection of Hayesville Road and Rt. 159, but failed to yield before continuing on. The car was struck shortly after 3 p.m. by a southbound van owned by Advanced Services.

Pence and Buckta were trapped in the car and had to be freed by the Saltcreek Tarlton Fire Department, the sheriff’s office said. Pence was flown to Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center. Her condition wasn't known tonight.

Buckta was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The driver of the van, Austin M. Hoagland, 22, of Waverly, was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
