Longs, SC : Five people injured when Horry County medic unit involved in crash on Highway 905 at Freemont Road on Sunday night, March 22, 2015

Five people were taken to Grand Strand Medical Center after being involved in a traffic accident involving and Horry County Fire Rescue ambulance Sunday night.
The accident happened around 10:45 p.m. at Highway 905 at Freemont Road, according to Brian VanAernem of HCFR. The driver of the ambulance has been ticketed.
VanAernem said Medic 34, stationed in the Red Bluff community, was transporting a patient when it was involved in the accident.
“Crews arrived on scene to find the medic unit on its side and a second vehicle in the ditch. Crews quickly made access to both vehicles and occupants. Additional Engines and Medic units were dispatched to assist with extricating patients from both vehicles,” VanAernem said.
He said five people were transported from the scene and are currently in stable condition.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved in this accident and we hope that they all recover quickly from any injuries sustained,” he said.T
The South Carolina Highway Patrol issued a citation to ambulance driver Ambulance driver Sheri DeBari, 43.
She has been charged with disregarding a stop sign, according to Cpl. Sonny Collins, with SCHP.
