Savannah, GA : Police seek truck after crash kills Florida man on Sunday night, January 4, 2015

Police in Savannah are searching for a truck that authorities say struck and killed a Florida man.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police say 72-year-old Peter Meyers of Vero Beach, Florida, was found on the ground in front of a motel Sunday night on Abercorn Street, a main thoroughfare through Savannah.

Police say he was walking across Abercorn when he was struck, and the force of the impact threw him into shrubbery nearby.

Investigators are looking for a 1999 or 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, Tahoe or Suburban with damage to its front end on the right side.
