Norton,OH : Police seek hit-skip driver who crashed into cruiser on Friday night ,July 24th 2015
A hit-skip driver is still on the loose after smashing into a police cruiser during a traffic stop and fleeing the scene.
The hit-skip happened around 9:30 p.m. on Friday.
Norton Police Officer Jon Karnuth stopped a vehicle on I-76, near milepost 12 in Summit County. He was parked on the north berm of the highway when a vehicle crashed into his cruiser.
After the collision, that vehicle fled the scene, driving west on I-76.
The police cruiser's overhead police lights were illuminated the entire time.
The officer was not injured in the crash.
The hit-skip vehicle was described as a small, dark gray car. It is expected to have significant damage to the right front corner of the car, including damage to the right side.
