Friday morning crash Two killed near Wilder Idaho
Two Homedale residents are dead as a result of an overnight crash east of Wilder.Amador M. Cortinas, 23, was driving west on Idaho 19 when he veered into the oncoming lane, striking an SUV driven by 23-year-old Jacob C. Andersen of Caldwell.Cortinas and his passenger, 24-year-old Daniel J. Valdez, died at the scene. Andersen was taken by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.
Police said that Cortinas was wearing his seatbelt, but Valdez was not. It is unknown whether Andersen was restrained when the wreck happened.The vehicles collided just before 3:30 a.m., according to Idaho State Police. The highway was blocked until about 6:40 a.m., when the damaged cars were towed from the scene.The crash remains under investigation.
