The incident occurred just north of Barefoot Bay Blvd. A male walking southbound on the tracks was struck, according to Tod Goodyear, spokesman for the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

The railroad crossings at Barefoot Bay Blvd and Micco Road are closed. Traffic needing to travel east/west to or from US 1 will be diverted to Grant Road to the north and Main Street to the South.
It is expected that these closures will be maintained for several hours before investigators clear the scene, Goodyear said.
