PINEY FLATS, TN : Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office investigating fatal crash in Piney Flats on April, Tuesday 4th 2017

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that left one dead and one injured in Piney Flats on Tuesday night.Just before 9 p.m., the SCSO was notified of a crash in the 700 block of North Austin Springs Road.

Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle that had come to rest in the foundation of a residence. The vehicle was occupied by two people. One person was killed in the crash and one was injured, according to a press release from SCSO Capt. Andy Seabolt,

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office Fatal Incident Reconstruction and Support Team (FIRST) is investigating the crash.

According to a press release, it appears the vehicle was traveling south on North Austin Springs Road when it left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck the residence.
