Fairmont,WV : Two injured in crash on March, Thursday 22nd 2018

Two people were taken to a Morgantown hospital following a two-car crash around noon Thursday on Helen's Run Road on Idamay Hill in the Farmington area.

A man in one of the cars was entrapped in the vehicle, according to Farmington Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Jonathan Toothman. He said the man was freed in about 10 minutes, and was flown by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. A landing zone for the helicopter was set up at Ray Kelly Athletic Field.

Toothman said a person in the other vehicle was taken by ambulance to Ruby.

He said he believed the vehicles collided by sideswiping one another.

Traffic was halted for about 20 minutes as a result of the crash.

Farmington Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by Worthington and Monongah fire departments.
