ORANGE TWP, NJ : Deadly crash in Orange Township on Tuesday 30th October 2018

A New York woman was killed in a two-car crash in Ionia County early Tuesday morning.

The Ionia County Sheriff’s Office reports the accident happened at 6:04 a.m. at the intersection of David and Keefer Highways in Orange Township.

The victim, identified as Trinity Grace Nellis, 20, of Corning, New York, missed a stop sign, leading to the accident. The driver of the other vehicle, Kevin Coffman, 28, of St. Johns was taken to Sparrow Ionia Hospital to be treated for injuries that were not considered life threatening, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office reports that Nellis was traveling northbound on Keefer Highway in a 2008 Honda Civic and disregarded the stop sign at the David Highway intersection. Coffman was traveling westbound on David Highway in his Dodge Ram 2500 and struck the passenger side of Nellis’ car.

Nellis was pronounced dead at the scene. Seatbelts were being utilized at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the collision.
