Anderson County, S.C : Jason Burnette, 36, dead in motorcycle crash on Highway 29 at the intersection with Plantation Road on Sunday, March 15, 2015

A motorcycle driver died hours after a crash Sunday night.

According to investigators the crash happened around 6:15 p.m. Sunday on Highway 29 at the intersection with Plantation Road.

The Anderson County Coroner's office says Jason Burnette, 36, of Belton, hit the back of a car.

He was taken to the hospital where he died hours later.

Lance Corporal David Jones says Antwika Jones, 23, was driving the car.

Antwika Jones was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

The car and the motorcycle were traveling east on Highway 29.

The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
