Richmond, VA : An 84-year-old Mechanicsville man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Thursday, August 10, 2017

An 84-year-old Mechanicsville man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on Chamberlayne Road in Hanover County.About 4:40 p.m., authorities responded to the crash in the 10000 block of Chamberlayne Road. The Hanover Sheriff’s Office's preliminary investigation revealed that a 1993 Dodge pickup was traveling north when the vehicle went off the roadway, struck an embankment and flipped over.

The driver of the pickup, Ivan L. Habron, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the vehicle's only occupant.

The crash remained under investigation Thursday night.
