Marion County, SC : John Thomas Graham, 37, died after vehicle hits tree, catches fire in Marion County on Saturday night, April 4, 2015

The person killed in a fiery crash on Maiden Down Road in Marion County on Saturday night has been identified as a 37-year-old Mullins man.

James Thomas Graham, 37, of Mullins, was killed in the wreck, according to Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson.

Richardson initially thought the person killed in the crash was a woman because of how badly burned the body was.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 9:40 p.m. They say Graham was driving a 2006 Jeep Cherokee east on Maiden Down Road when the car went off the right side of the road, hit a tree and then caught fire.
