Hayneville, AL : Jeremy Johnson's grandfather killed in car accident on Alabama 21 Wednesday, August 24, 2016

Ojedita Johnson Sr., grandfather of Auburn University quarterback Jeremy Johnson, was killed in a car accident Wednesday, according to a release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Carver High School Principal Gary Hall confirmed the relation. Johnson was 65 years old.

The crash occurred at about 9:30 a.m. on Alabama 21 one mile north of Hayneville.

Johnson's 2008 Ford Ranger struck a tree after leaving the road, and Johnson was pronounced dead at Baptist Medical Center South.

The investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
