Fontana, CA : Suspect in stolen truck causes multi-vehicle collision in Fontana on Wednesday, 4th September 2019

A suspect in a stolen truck caused a multi-vehicle collision in Fontana on Sept. 4, according to the Fontana Police Department.

At about 10 a.m., police received a 911 call reporting that a victim's commercial truck had just been stolen, said Officer Daniel Romero.While officers were en route to the scene, they started to get other 911 calls reporting a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Sierra and Marygold avenues.

The suspect in the stolen truck had rear-ended a Honda and pushed it into a traffic signal and another vehicle, Romero said.The truck continued over the center divider across northbound lanes and struck a fence in the parking lot of Kaiser Hospital.

The suspect, identified as Joshua Cook, 34, was arrested and transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where he was admitted for a preexisting medical condition.

The driver of the Honda had moderate injuries and was transported to Kaiser Hospital for treatment.
