Motorcyclist killed in Hillsboro crash

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Wednesday night.Deputies say Amir Omar Abukhdeir, 40, was riding a 2000 Yamaha Road Star motorcycle westbound on Fletcher Avenue when he was hit by a 1998 Ford Taurus.Deputies say the driver, William James Croom, was eastbound on Fletcher Avenue and was attempting to make a left turn onto 42nd Street.

Deputies say Croom failed to see the motorcycle approaching and turned into its path.
Abukhdeir, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to the hospital where he later died. Croom and a passenger in his vehicle were transported to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.
