A driver is dead after crashing into a church sign on Jacksonville's Westside around 9 p.m. Friday. Pastor Steve Dobbs with the Paxon Revival Center says the crash took out a 16 foot by 16 foot sign at his church along Commonwealth Avenue, but he is feeling a deeper sense of loss about the driver who was killed. "The sign can be replaced, but life cannot and it's such a shame with the holiday season that we're in," said Pastor Steve Dobbs with the Paxon Revival Church. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says the driver first crashed into a telephone pole and then slammed into the church's sign. He was taken to UF Health where he was pronounced dead.
