Yuma, AZ : Three adults and child injured in traffic crash on county road on Friday, November 25th 2016
Three adults and one child were transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center Friday afternoon for the injuries they received following a two-car collision near Somerton.
According to Chief Paul De Anda, of the Somerton/Cocopah Fire Department, the collision happened at approximately 3:02 p.m. at the County 17½ and Somerton Avenue, between two mid-sized sedans.
The Yuma County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of the collision, which left both vehicles involved, a gray Nissan Sentra and silver Pontiac sedan, with significant front end damage and resting side by side facing east.
Upon the arrival of the Somerton/Cocopah Fire Department on scene, firefighters began treating four occupants who were complaining of various injuries.
The sole female occupant of the gray Nissan Sentra was complaining of lacerations to the head and pain to her right shoulder.
There were three occupants in the silver Pontiac, two adults and one child.
The male occupant, who was the driver, was complaining of left shoulder pain and had some minor head lacerations. An adult female and child were complaining of neck and shoulder pain respectively.
All patients had their vital signs taken and were placed in full cervical spine precautions and transported by Somerton/Cocopah and San Luis Fire Department ambulances.
The Marine Corps Air Station Yuma Fire Department backfilled the Somerton/Cocopah Fire Station to take on any additional alarms while its units were on scene of the motor vehicle accident.
