Iva, SC : Man rescued after car crashes into church in Anderson County on Wednesday morning, July 1, 2015
Rescue crews were called to Iva Church of God on Highway 81 Wednesday morning after a car crashed into the church building.
Anderson County Fire Chief Jimmy Sutherland said the car crashed into a wall at the church around 9:30 a.m.
Crews arrived to find a man in the car, alive and alert.
Sutherland said it took more than an hour to free the man from the car. The man was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital just after 11 a.m.
according to FOX Carolina's crew at the scene.
Officials at the scene said a medical condition may have led to the crash.
