Montgomery ,AL :18-year-old woman killed after in Montgomery crash along Interstate 71 on Sunday Morning ,August 23rd 2015

An 18-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash that closed Interstate 71 for hours Sunday morning, police said.

Amy Sanker was killed in the early morning accident, police confirmed Sunday evening.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes near the Pfeiffer Road exit around 12:30 a.m, police said. Authorities closed the roadway in the Montgomery area after the crash and reopened it around 5:30 a.m.

Police could not provide further details on the crash. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
