BERKELEY, CA : A multi-car collision on a busy street near Interstate 80 on Thursday, October, 26th 2017

Police said that officers and firefighters are responding to reports of a multi-car collision on a busy street near Interstate 80 Thursday evening.

That crash blocked both directions of Ashby Avenue between I-80 and Seventh Street, including an I-80 on-ramp and off-ramp, just after 6:45 p.m..

No word was immediately available on any injuries or extent of damages. Police urge drivers in the area to expect traffic delays and choose alternate routes.

Just before 8 p.m., police said I-80 ramp access had reopened.
