A New York woman died Monday night in a crash on the Garden State Parkway, police said.
Sara Martin, of Blauvelt, N.Y., was driving northbound at about 7:42 p.m. in the right lane of the highway in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey State Police Lt. Brian Polite said.
Martin, 27, lost control of the 2001 Chevy Cavalier she was driving, Polite said. The car ran off the roadway to the left.
It traveled up a grass embankment and struck several trees, Polite said. Martin suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are still investigating the crash, Polite said. Martin was wearing her seat belt.
