Waterbury,CT : Driver charged in crash that left pedestrian dead on November, Monday 27th 2017
Police say a driver who briefly left the scene after fatally striking an elderly man faces charges in Connecticut.
Victor Manuel Collado-Paez was arraigned Monday in Waterbury Superior Court on charges of driving without a license and felony evading responsibility. A judge set bond at $50,000.
Police say 74-year-old Daniel Hernandez was hit in Waterbury late Sunday afternoon as he was trying to cross the street. The impact threw Hernandez and he became pinned under an unoccupied and parked vehicle.
Hernandez was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say Collado-Paez initially fled the scene but returned a short time later.
