YAKIMA, WA : A woman was injured and sent to the hospital after a traffic crash on Thursday, June 1, 2017

A woman was injured and sent to the hospital Thursday morning after a traffic crash just west of downtown Yakima.

Yakima police spokesman Mike Bastinelli said the woman was driving a red Subaru Forester on North 11th Avenue near its intersection with West Yakima Avenue.

The woman appeared not to yield to an oncoming white Chevrolet Tahoe on West Yakima Avenue, and the two vehicles collided, he said.

The driver of the Subaru was taken to a local hospital for what was described as minor injuries.

Within minutes, crews finished sweeping up the scene and tow trucks removed both vehicles. There were no serious traffic delays.
