BARDSTOWN, KY : 17-year-old killed in crash in Nelson County on Friday, 30th August 2024

The Kentucky State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash Friday evening that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy.

Friday at about 5:45 p.m., a KSP trooper found the scene of a two-vehicle crash near the 13-mile marker on Bluegrass Parkway in Bardstown.

The initial investigation revealed that the 17-year-old was driving a Ford Fusion westbound when, for reasons unknown, he crossed the median into the path of a Cadillac Escalade driven by 41-year-old Patrick Reed.

The 17-year-old died at the scene. Reed and two passengers were flown to UofL Hospital and are expected to live.
