Berkeley ,CA : Bicyclist, pedestrian badly injured in Berkeley collision on Saturday, 2nd May, 2020

A collision between a bicyclist and a pedestrian Saturday evening sent both people to the hospital with serious injuries, authorities said Sunday.

They were both in critical condition Sunday, police said.

The collision happened about 4:48 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Euclid and Hearst avenues, police said.

Police said a 55-year-old Berkeley man riding a bicycle southbound on Euclid Avenue hit a 60-year-old Berkeley woman who was standing on the south sidewalk of Hearst Avenue.


Both suffered head injuries and after being treated at the scene by paramedics were transported to a hospital.

No other details about the collision were released Sunday. The intersection was closed for almost four hours while police investigated.
